12月10日(土)に、秋葉原UDXカンファレンスRoom Dで、「マインクラフトを自作PCで楽しむ」ことをテーマにしたイベント「Windows 10で楽しもう『マイクラ ×自作パソコン』 ～パソコンでしか楽しめないMod導入からマルチプレイサーバの立て方まで～」が開催された。

買収後、Microsoftは自社でリリースしている開発ツール「Visual Studio」でマインクラフトの MOD が開発できるように拡張機能「Minecraft Mod Developer Pack」を配布したり、Microsoftが現在開発中のヘッドマウントディスプレイ Microsoft HoloLensがマインクラフトに対応 することを発表したりと、精力的に活動してきました。
