Arabesque turns are undoubtedly one of the hardest pirouettes because of the strength required to maintain position whilst turning. My main tip is to not leg that working leg swing outside, causing the body to open and the weight to drop onto the heel. To hold balance for this pirouette requires incredible strength from the hamstring, glute and of course lower back muscles. In my opinion it’s only for extremely advanced dancers who have mastered the art of both balanced arabesque and pirouettes.
