because I said so :) when strangers ask me to pet Kora, my service dog, I almost always say “no” or “no, sorry she’s working”. they usually compliment her &/or respect our space. that being said, recently I have had people respond with “why not?” or “why can’t I?”. by petting, talking to, or interacting with a service dog in any way, shape, or form could distract them from their very important job which can potentially be dangerous for the handler & for the service dog. please be respectful if a
