A HUNG START is an abnormal start where the engine fails to reach self-sustainable idle N2. This may be caused by incorrect fuel metering, low duct pressure causing slow engine start-up rotation, starter failure, engine damage or the starter cutting out too early. In the video, the start lever is placed to idle detent passing 25% N2, fuel flow is observed as too low at 90 Kg/h (normal fuel flow should be approximately between 250-350 Kg/h) and EGT rises slowly.
