You can use many different acrylic mediums to make “thick paint” or you can even mix multiple mediums together, but personally I use modeling paste, and light modeling paste the most often. Gel mediums are also a personal favourite, but they create a very different finished look than modeling paste, so make sure you take that into consideration when choosing your medium.
