For today's #FlashbackFriday, we're taking it back to the 1987 Soul Train Music Awards at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. CAMEO performed a blistering rendition of "Word Up" in front of a packed house (see if you can spot Janet Jackson, DeBarge, and Miles Davis in the audience). CAMEO took home Album of the Year and Best Single by a Group, Duo, or Band. "Word Up" was also nominated for Best Music Video (losing to Janet Jackson's "What Have You Done for Me Lately").
