This video shows the evolution of the debris flow arrived/ #flashflood today down Cedar Creek north of Ruidoso, New Mexico, from the storm to peak flow. This was from around 2 inches of rainfall on the burn scar, and is very small compared to the destructive floods from last month. I was monitoring the rainfall rates very closely, had escape routes planned and practiced, and used my training from David Rankin to cover this event safely. Due to mudslides on SR-38, motorists were trapped between debris flow locations and a slip out.
