【Gibson L-5CES / 1963】 Gibson「L-5CES」のヴィンテージが入荷しました。1963年製です。 ソリッド・アーチトップ・ジャズギターのラインナップの中でもフラッグシップモデルと言えるGibson L-5は大きめの17インチ幅のボディサイズが特徴です。 このボディサイズはまだピックアップが搭載される前のピックギター時代の名残です。 元々、L-5はピックアップのないアコースティックギターとして生まれたギターです。 生音での音量を稼ぐためにボディーが大きめに作られました。 ソリッド・スプルース材によるボディトップ、プレスされたメイプルによるサイド、バックというスタイルは、現在のジャズギターの全ての原点となっています。 マルチバインディング、エボニーフィンガーボード、ブロックインレイ、 ゴールドハードウェアなど、一見するからにプレミアムな仕様のギターです。 またこのL-5はジャズギタリスト「ウェス・モンゴメリー」の愛機であったことでも有名ですね。 今回入荷した個体は1963年製のピックアップ付きのモデル。 同時期にピックアップがない「L-5C」も存在しておりました。
