When I hear stories of my maternal side I feel very strongly that there is a long line of undiagnosed autistic women, I hope my diagnosis has been healing for them in some way. Autistic life expectancy is also something that is quite terrifying to consider - our years of anxiety, masking and sensory overwhelm definitely takes a toll on our bodies, being able to now know why we grapple with these feelings is hopefully the medicine we need to heal and be able to live long fulfilling autistic lives
