History Changed on This Day in 1981 💚🇮🇪 On March 1st 1981, Bobby Sands began his hunger strike inside the H-Blocks of Long Kesh, protesting for political status for republican prisoners. During the strike he was elected MP for Fermanagh and South Tyrone. He died after 66 days without food.
